Project Brief
Located in a prominent area of Kolkata, on the AJC Bose Road- a stone’s throw away from the Minto Park, and along the Maa Flyover, sits the headquarters of Bisk Farm, a leading fast-moving consumer goods company in India. The project was to renovate and refurbish the building which will function as an office headquarter as well as a residence for the owner. The work has been done in three dominant phases- façade development, ground development, and roof work development. The connection between the two spaces, divided in functionality, has been integrated with the help of a bridge to create an informal gathering space, surrounded by the use of jaalis and perforations, to enhance privacy. The use of louvers and landscape on the rooftop terrace areas are key features to allow screening from main roads. New signages and cladding have been incorporated to present a modern street view. The use of materials has been kept simple and minimal to highlight certain sections of the building.
